The Orthopedic Hospital is Hiring a Surgical Tech Near FORT WAYNE, IN
JOB SUMMARY:
Under the supervision of the Supervisor in the area of responsibility and clinical leadership of a registered
nurse, prepares the surgical suite and patient for surgery and assists the team during the procedure.
MINIMAL ACCEPTABLE JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure/Certifications:
*Must meet one (1) of the following requirements:
a. Has completed a surgical technology program provided by the United States Army, Navy, Air Force,
Marine Corps or Coast Guard or the commissioned corps of the United States Public Health Service.
b. Provides evidence to the health care facility that the individual was employed to practice surgical
technology in a healthcare facility before July 1, 2009.
*An individual who is described above (a. or b.) and is practicing surgical technology in a healthcare facility;
annually shall complete fifteen (15) hours of continuing education concerning surgical technology in order to
continue practicing surgical technology.
SAMA Level 1 within 30 days of hire
BCLS within 60 days of hire
